Welcome one and all.

Welcome to the one blog that will give you all the latest news about the upcoming municipal election in Wasaga Beach. I encourage everyone to please post comments, and suggestions on how you really feel about the candidates. Try and keep it clean or your comment will be removed.

Over the next little while I will be posting a profile of each candidate. Questions will be sent out to the candidates on how they feel about the issues. If a candidate does not want to respond, have no fear I will do my own profile based on information from their website, or hand-outs.

In the meantime if you have a post you want to have uploaded to the site, please feel free to email me at: voteforsteve@gmail.com

You can also vote for the candidate of your choice for Mayor and Deputy Mayor on the right hand side. Once we have more candidates for Council, I will post another poll.

Until next time!

  1. I plan on tabling the issue of free parking for Wasaga Beach residents. I am in the process of gathering signatures supporting a petition for this cause and will be submitting it shortly to council for approval. It should be noted that neighbouring communities (Sauble Beach, Barrie, Innisfil) offer free parking at their beaches and waterfront to their residents. At the present state Beach area one is in, have you come up with a viable solution to increase traffic to the beach? Free parking for residents would be a solid plan to get residents back to the beaches they once abandoned and increase traffic and inturn money into neighbouring busineses.

    1. Free parking would be a great idea and it should have been done before the start of the summer. Council needs to wake up and do what it can to keep our residents in town, and spend their money here.

    2. Agreed, free parking should have been done years ago, and I most certainly hope I am successful in obtaining this for the residents. When I read that Barrie residents were given free parking at their waterfront, it occurred to me that this would be a solid way to increase traffic to our beach. I truely believe it will be a benefit to businesses and will start a chain reaction of positive growth for businesses and the town.
